Frequently asked questions

How to buy tickets

Thank you for
choosing public transport to explore Slovenia. Here’s what you need to know
about using Arriva buses and buying tickets as a foreign visitor.

Ticket
Options

  • IJPP Card
Available only in Slovenia. It allows you to buy tickets online via
ijpp.arriva.si, but you must first obtain the IJPP card at a larger bus or
train station (IJPP selling points). The card is not available abroad and
    cannot be shipped.
  • Tickets without the IJPP card
You can buy single tickets in person at any IJPP selling point (e.g.
Ljubljana Bus Station, railway stations, or major town stations). No IJPP
    card is required.
  • Buying from the driver
If you’re boarding at a stop without a ticket office, you can buy your
    ticket directly from the driver.
Cash only – we kindly recommend preparing the exact amount, as
drivers may have limited change available.
  • Valid ticket required
You may only travel with a valid ticket. Please make sure to purchase your
ticket before boarding or directly from the driver.

At the
Airport (or any other bus stop without a ticket point)

There is no ticket office or ticket machine at the airport.
If you’re taking an Arriva bus from the airport, you can buy your ticket
directly from the driver.
Payment is cash only – please have the exact fare ready, as
drivers may not always be able to provide change.
