Ministry for Infrastructure is with 1 Juley introducing two new tickets that will bring passengers additional benefits while traveling with domestic regional bus or train transport.
Weekend ticket for families and groups of passengers (Vikend vozovnica za družine in skupine potnikov)
The ticket will enable families or groups of passengers up to 5 or up to 10 persons, with at least one child age up to 14 years, unlimited number of trips in the regional bus or train transport on Saturdays, Sundays and over holidays in the period of four consecutive. The price of the tickets is 15 EUR for groups up to five persons and 30 EUR for groups up to 10 persons.
Weekend family tickets can be purchased only at IJPP selling points. The ticket will be written on a IJPP card (not personalized).
Weekend 75% discounts
On Saturday, Sunday and holidays, in the period from 1.7.2021 till 30. 6. 2022, passengers can travel with a 75% discount that is valid on all IJPP tickets in the regional bus and domestic train transport.
The purchase of weekend tickets with discount is enabled at all IJPP selling points. The ticket will be written on a IJPP card (not personalized). On the bus, at the driver passengers can purchase only Single weekend tickets (Enkratna vikend vozovnica) in paper form for the relation on which the bus is driving.
The benefits that will be valid from 1. 7. 2021 till 30. 6. 2022 are being implemented to additionally encourage the usage of public passenger transport after COVID-19 epidemic a one of more sustainable modes of transport. Ministry of Infrastructure is asking all travellers, especially families and group, who are usually traveling with personal cars, to try the benefits of traveling with public transport under most favourable conditions.
Beside that the Ministry of Infrastructure will with the new school year simplify the system for subsidized tickets for pupils, students, and adult education participants. All subsidized relation tickets will be replaced with one ticket that will be valid for an unlimited number of drives on the area of whole Slovenia. These tickets will be valid the whole year and not only till end of school year. The price for the ticket will be 25 EUR per month.
Such a ticket will simplify the current system of relation tickets. For the user it will be cheaper and will enable traveling all over Slovenia. The purpose of those changes is to make public passenger transport even more attractive for young travellers and to preserve their traveling habits also after the end of the educational process. By this we aim to limit the volume of personal motorized transport in Slovenia and to contribute to the goals of reducing the negative impacts of transport on the environment and climate.
For children up to 6 years public regional transport is free of charge.
Weekend family (Vikend družinske) and Weekend tickets with discount (Vikend vozovnice s popustom) do not enable transport with city transports.
