With the New Year, new ticket prices for public passenger transport in the Municipality of Koper will come into effect. Ticket prices, unchanged since 2014, will increase slightly as of January 1, but bus transport will remain the most affordable form of public transportation in the municipality.
Starting January 1, the price of a single ticket for city bus services in the Municipality of Koper will be one euro, while a monthly pass will cost 13 euros. For suburban bus services, ticket prices are determined at the national level. However, the Municipality of Koper has adopted a decision to adjust the level of ticket subsidies. As a result, the fare paid by passengers on suburban lines will remain the same as in city bus services.
Public bus transport, operated in the Municipality of Koper by the concessionaire Arriva, continues to be the best alternative to private car travel. Particularly favorable terms apply to retirees, persons with disabilities, and war veterans, who can use bus services free of charge. They only need a special red card or a unified ticket for the integrated public transport system, which can be obtained for three euros at the Arriva sales point at the main bus station.
