New functions in the Arriva Piran app

In Piran, new functionalities are now available to users of the Arriva Piran application, enhancing and simplifying the public transport experience.

Arriva Piran Application Now with Bluetooth Identification

The new identification function uses Bluetooth wireless technology, eliminating the need to bring the phone in direct proximity to the validator and play an audio token. Now, validation can be easily done near the validator via Bluetooth, allowing for faster and more convenient validation.

Payment for Multiple People

Users of the Arriva Piran application can now pay for tickets for several people simultaneously. Before boarding, the user selects the number of people for whom they wish to pay in the application. This streamlines the check-in process and improves group travel.

The ongoing efforts of Arriva and the Municipality of Piran to modernize the public transport system demonstrate their joint commitment to providing efficient, sustainable, and accessible services to passengers. By introducing payment innovations, Arriva and the Municipality of Piran address the evolving needs of passengers and contribute to the transformation of public transport in the region.

Upgrade of the Card System

Paying with Visa and Mastercard cards has become easier. The upgraded card system now allows users to purchase tickets using a Visa or Mastercard card, mobile wallets, or other wearable devices at the card system validator. This new payment method, in addition to the already established Unified City Card of Piran (EMC Piran), expands the utility of public transport and further enhances its accessibility. The card payment validation process remains the same as with the existing EMC Piran payment system. Passengers can now enjoy the convenience of boarding a bus by simply holding their Visa or Mastercard, mobile wallet, or wearable device close to the validator, enabling faster and more efficient journeys.

When paying for multiple people, the passenger must inform the driver of the number of people for whom they are paying before using their payment card. It is important to note that the payment card can only be used to pay for the bus ride being boarded. It does not allow transfers between different buses without purchasing a new ticket.
