Dear passengers,

Announcement on the automatic functionality of contactless cards

Dear passengers,

Please be informed that users of name bound tickets that are stored on older contactless cards (serial number from VD-08001 till VD-26000), include NFC (Near Field Communication[1]) functionality, due to which the card near an unlocked mobile phone with NFC interface, opens the browser and web page www.arriva.si. As this can be for our clients disturbing, we advise following solutions to turn off NFC functionalities:

  • Visit our ticket selling points where we will free of charge replace your contactless card with a new one without the NFC functionality, and transfer your credit from the old to the new card.
  • You can turn off the NFC functionality on your phone yourself:
  1. ANDROID system:
    1. Open the application Settings on your phone.
    2. Chose Connected devices > Connection settings.
    3. Turn off NFC.

Important: If the NFC setting is not displayed, the phone does not have an NFC interface.

iOS system does not have an automatic activation of the functionality.

Thank you for your understanding.

We wish you a safe and pleasant ride.

[1] Near-field communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols for communication between two electronic devices over a distance of 4 cm (112 in) or less.[1] NFC offers a low-speed connection with simple setup that can be used to bootstrap more-capable wireless connections.[2] Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near-field_communication
