This year, the traditional Chestnut Picnic in Besnica will take place over two Sundays—October 11 and 18, 2026—starting at 11:00 a.m. in the wooden village at the foot of Rovnik.
Visitors will be welcomed by stalls featuring local products and produce, autumn and chestnut-themed treats, and a varied program for children.
On both days, a free bus service will operate along the route Supernova Kranj Savski Otok – Stražišče – Besnica and back.
The buses will run according to a special schedule, allowing you to leave your car at home and head to the picnic without worrying about parking.
