The project was launched by the Dru\u017eba za upravljanje javnega potni\u0161kega prometa (DUJPP), while transport on the route is operated by operator Arriva d.o.o.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers can now pay for a single ticket with a payment card or mobile wallet directly at the driver\u2019s terminal.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot marks an important step towards the digitalisation and modernisation of intercity public passenger transport. After the test phase is completed, card payment will gradually be introduced on other intercity routes across Slovenia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why the Brnik \u2013 Ljubljana route?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Brnik Airport Ljubljana stop is often the first point of contact with Slovenia for many visitors. This route is frequently used by passengers purchasing a ticket for the first time, just before boarding the bus, and who often do not have cash on hand.<\/p>\n<p>The introduction of contactless payment will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>speed up passenger boarding,<br \/>\n\u2022 relieve drivers of handling cash,<br \/>\n\u2022 improve the overall user and travel experience,<br \/>\n\u2022 eliminate the need for foreign visitors to look for an ATM immediately upon arrival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Card payments are available with Mastercard, Visa and Diners debit or credit cards, as well as via mobile wallets on smartphones. Ticket prices remain the same as when paying with cash.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s next?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The pilot project will run in a real operating environment over the coming weeks. Feedback and experience from drivers, technical teams and passengers will serve as the basis for further optimisation of the system and its gradual rollout across Slovenia.<\/p>\n<p>In parallel with contactless payment, DUJPP is also developing online ticket sales and a passenger portal, which will further simplify journey planning and the use of public transport.<\/p>\n<p>When purchasing a ticket is quick and easy, choosing public transport becomes easier.
