Payment with Koper Card Plus was first implemented on city buses, later also payment of other services was included.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2468 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/arriva.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1-1024x714.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"714\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arriva.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1-1024x714.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/arriva.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1-1024x714-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/arriva.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1-1024x714-768x536.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The smart cards is modern electronic payment system, which provides an easier, faster and more flexible use of public transportation. The new system is enabling passengers more users\u2019 friendly city passenger transport services and is at the same time providing a detail overview over the passengers flow and departures density, in order to provide easier planning of changes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">At City transport Koper passenger can use a free-of-charge change of buses within 30 minutes from the validation for the first bus travel, as well as the possibility of payment of services through the Moneta mobile phone and payment for more passengers at once.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: AkzidGrtskNext, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">We ask the passengers to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; color: #2d2d2d; font-family: AkzidGrtskNext, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">buy the tickets in advance<\/span><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: AkzidGrtskNext, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">. If at all possible, the passengers shall use\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; color: #2d2d2d; font-family: AkzidGrtskNext, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">contactless cards<\/span><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: AkzidGrtskNext, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">\u00a0<b>Koper Card Plus<\/b> to pay for the rides. I<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">It is\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><u>not possible<\/u><\/strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\"> to buy tickets on the buses in Koper with cash, tickets can be payed with Visa and MasterCard credit cards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: AkzidGrtskNext, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><div data-allowopenall=\"true\" class=\"kc-elm kc-css-557032 kc_accordion_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-55591 kc_accordion_section group \"><h3 class=\"kc_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><span class=\"ui-accordion-header-icon ui-icon\"><\/span><a href=\"#contactless-koper-card-plus-cards\" data-prevent=\"scroll\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> CONTACTLESS KOPER CARD PLUS CARDS<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"kc_accordion_content ui-accordion-content kc_clearfix\"><div class=\"kc-panel-body\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-996813 kc_text_block\"><\/p>\n<p>\nNew contactless Koper Card Plus cards\u00a0\u00a0are available in four motives.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/arriva.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/KP-knjizica-bus_preview2_-page-004.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"952\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>VALUE CARD\u00a0<\/strong>bears no name and is transferable. It will provide a free-of-charge change of buses within 30 minutes* from the payment\/validation for the first bus travel. The value Koper Card Plus card will be chargeable with up to \u20ac 50 credit.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>TIME CARD<\/strong>\u00a0will replace the currently valid monthly tickets. It is issued to a specific holder and is not transferable. It enables an unlimited number of rides on all city bus routes. The monthly time card can only be obtained from the Koper Bus Station selling point, Kolodvorska 11, where we will register the right of use for an individual type of monthly time card. When buying the time card for the first time, you will have to identify yourself with an ID document, but without any ID photo to be put on.<\/p>\n<p>The time cards can be topped at the ticket vending machine and any other selling point, where the monthly validity of the card can be renewed for the next month after paying for the appropriate monthly ticket. In addition to a monthly ticket, the time card can be topped up with a credit (up to \u20ac50) which is then used in the same way as cash or for paying for other services that will be included in the Koper Card Plus system. If you have a valid monthly ticket loaded on your time card, the system registers the monthly ticket and does not deduct the amount of fare. When the system detects that no valid monthly ticket is loaded on the card, it automatically deducts the fare from the balance on the card.<\/p>\n<p>The Koper Card Plus is permanent.<\/p>\n<p>Switching buses within 30 minutes can be used only by passengers who played the ride with Koper Card Plus.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-294332 kc_accordion_section group \"><h3 class=\"kc_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><span class=\"ui-accordion-header-icon ui-icon\"><\/span><a href=\"#protection-loss-theft-of-the-card\" data-prevent=\"scroll\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> PROTECTION, LOSS, THEFT OF THE CARD<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"kc_accordion_content ui-accordion-content kc_clearfix\"><div class=\"kc-panel-body\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-425324 kc_text_block\"><\/p>\n<p>\nThe Koper Card Plus may be kept in a hard or soft plastic wrap. When validating the card, it is not necessary to take out the card from the wrap, witch can be attached to a pendant or a strap, but in no case the card should be holed as it contains a chip with an antenna. The card may be kept in the wallet or purse without any fear to cause discharge by a magnet or other type of damage to other bank or credit cards. It is recommended to take out the smart card prior validation in order that the validator will properly recognize it, if other no-contact cards are kept beside it.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><strong>Loss or theft<\/strong>\u00a0of a Koper Card Plus must be immediately reported on the telephone no.<strong>\u00a0+386 (0)5 6625 105<\/strong>\u00a0before going to our ticket selling point at the Koper Bus Station, Kolodvorska 11. The costs of replacement of a lost or stolen card is 10 EUR .<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><strong>Time card<\/strong>: an ID document will be required upon the issue of a new card. As all time cards are issued to the name, monthly bus fares and other credit value may be refunded to the newly issued card (refund will be made only 48 hours after the loss or theft has been reported).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Value card:<\/strong>\u00a0as the card holds no name, any credit existing before the loss or theft is non-refundable.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><strong>If you find a card<\/strong>, please return it to the Arriva Ticket Office (Koper Bus Station at Kolodvorska 11).<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-990169 kc_accordion_section group \"><h3 class=\"kc_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><span class=\"ui-accordion-header-icon ui-icon\"><\/span><a href=\"#sale-and-topping-up-of-cards\" data-prevent=\"scroll\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> SALE AND TOPPING-UP OF CARDS<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"kc_accordion_content ui-accordion-content kc_clearfix\"><div class=\"kc-panel-body\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-449685 kc_text_block\"><\/p>\n<h4><strong>You can also buy value cards at ticket vending machines, which means that the Koper Card Plus is available 24 hours a day.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The purchase procedure at a ticket vending machine is simple. The button &#8220;Nakup nove kartice\" (Buy new card) appears at the bottom of the touch screen. The purchase procedure starts when you press the button. First select the method of payment (cash, bank or credit card, Moneta) and pay for the card. The price is the same as at other points of sale, i.e. \u20ac3.5. The ticket vending machine issues the card and the procedure is completed. If you buy a card with cash and insert more than \u20ac3.5 in the ticket vending machine, the machine instructs you to touch the card scanner with the new card so that the surplus amount can be credited to the card. The ticket vending machine guides the user through the procedure by voice and written instructions on the screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE TICKET VENDING MACHINE DOES NOT RETURN CHANGE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you insert more money than required when paying for a monthly ticket at the ticket vending machine or buying a Koper Card Plus, the surplus amount is added to the selected card as a credit.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the type of card, you can use the credit to pay for a ride or a monthly ticket for the next month, to pay for a ride for another person or to pay for other services included in the Koper Card Plus system.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not want to add credit to the card in this way, prepare the exact amount when buying a card or topping it up.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-235783 kc_accordion_section group \"><h3 class=\"kc_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><span class=\"ui-accordion-header-icon ui-icon\"><\/span><a href=\"#which-id-documents-do-i-need\" data-prevent=\"scroll\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> WHICH ID DOCUMENTS DO I NEED?<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"kc_accordion_content ui-accordion-content kc_clearfix\"><div class=\"kc-panel-body\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-275785 kc_text_block\"><\/p>\n<p>\nNo ID document is required for the purchase of a\u00a0<strong>VALUE\u00a0<\/strong>Koper Card Plus.<\/p>\n<p>No ID photo is required for the purchase of a\u00a0<strong>TIME\u00a0<\/strong>Koper Card Plus. The ride must be paid immediately after entering the bus, by validating the card. There is\u00a0one card reader (validator) on every bus \u2013 it is located next to the driver and is intended for paying for the ride for one or several passengers with the same card and\/or with a mobile phone.<\/p>\n<p>To validate the card, the user touches the validator with their Koper Card Plus, close to the image of a hand holding a card. The card must be validated upon every entry to a bus, even when switching buses. Free tickets must also be validated.<\/p>\n<p>At the vehicles&#8217; exit doors\u00a0additional readers \u2013 validators are instaled, which are used for counting passengers. A counting survey over the passengers and control over the individual departure density will be provided, in order to ensure easier planning of changes in the bus line scheme and timetable. The passenger has to touch-off the validator with the smart card Koper Card Plus when exiting the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Validation of the value card<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Upon validation, the system deducts the amount of a single fare from the credit balance. The deducted amount and the balance on the card appear on the screen. If you switch buses within 30 minutes, touch the validator with the value card and the system will only record the ride. The word PRESTOP (switch) appears on the validator screen. The card balance appears on the screen and no amount is deducted from the card.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><strong>Validation of the time card<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Upon validation of the time card, the system will first check whether the card has been topped up with a valid monthly ticket. If it has, the system will choose this payment method and will not deduct any credit from the card. The monthly ticket on the Koper Card Plus is valid from the first day of the current month up to the first day of the following month. If the system detects that the card is not loaded with a valid monthly ticket, it will deduct the applicable fare that also includes the 30-minute bus switching option.<\/p>\n<p>If after the validation the card is again in contact with the validator on the same bus, the words \u017dE VALIDIRANA (already validated) appear on the screen. The card balance is shown again.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><strong>Sound and light signals of the validator<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GREEN TICK \u2013 successful validation is confirmed with a sound signal and a green tick in the upper-left corner. Both signals are also activated when switching buses and validating the card.<\/li>\n<li>YELLOW BLINKING LIGHT \u2013 A yellow blinking light in the middle of the screen means that the system is functioning and is waiting for the validation.<\/li>\n<li>RED CROSS \u2013 A small red cross flashes in the upper-right corner, accompanied by a sound signal, thus indicating that the card is invalid.<\/li>\n<li>RED LIGHT \u2013 A red light in the middle indicates an error or system breakdown.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paying for the rides of several passengers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The rides of several passengers are paid from the available credit on the value or time card. Please tell the driver to select the desired number of tickets on a special terminal and then touch the validator with the card. The 30-minute bus switching period applies to all passengers travelling with you, but only if you travel together.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><strong>Free bus switching<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be able to switch buses free of charge you must validate your card each time you switch busses \u2013 within 30 minutes from the first validation. The ride on the bus you entered by switching buses can be longer than the 30-minute period and\/or can last until the terminal station of the bus route.<\/p>\n<p>Bus switching is considered to be any ride that takes place within 30 minutes after paying for the first ride.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-822250 kc_accordion_section group \"><h3 class=\"kc_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><span class=\"ui-accordion-header-icon ui-icon\"><\/span><a href=\"#payments-with-valu\" data-prevent=\"scroll\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> PAYMENTS WITH VALU<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"kc_accordion_content ui-accordion-content kc_clearfix\"><div class=\"kc-panel-body\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-669644 kc_text_block\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;\">The system also allows payments with mobile phones and app VALU.<br \/>The information on\u00a0application VALU and instructions for payments with app<br \/>VALU are available at\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif; color: black;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.valu.si\/za-uporabnike\/kako-lahko-placujem-z-valu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.valu.si\/za-uporabnike\/kako-lahko-placujem-z-valu<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;\">This type of payment does not allow free-of-charge change of<br \/>buses as well as the payment of travels for more than one person.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;\">Call +386 41 440 880<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;\">\u00a0for further information<br \/>and instructions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-753641 kc_accordion_section group \"><h3 class=\"kc_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><span class=\"ui-accordion-header-icon ui-icon\"><\/span><a href=\"#payment-and-card-validity-control\" data-prevent=\"scroll\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> PAYMENT AND CARD VALIDITY CONTROL<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"kc_accordion_content ui-accordion-content kc_clearfix\"><div class=\"kc-panel-body\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-76379 kc_text_block\"><\/p>\n<p>\nControl on the buses is regulated by the Rules on Internal Control of Arriva Slovenia Group and\u00a0General conditions of transport for passengers and baggage in the city transport of Municipality Koper.<\/p>\n<p>The obligation of a user or passenger is to buy a bus ticket before entering the bus and to validate the same at the entry on the bus.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><strong>The bus fare payment\u00a0<\/strong>is controlled at the entry on the bus by a bus driver or a controller of the concession provider Arriva Dolenjska in Primorska d.o.o.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bus tickets and Koper Cards Plus validity<\/strong>\u00a0are controlled also during the bus ride. On request of an Arriva controller you will have to hand over the bus ticket or Koper Card Plus for further electronic control of bus fare payments and you will have to identify yourself with an ID document containing your personal photo. A passenger without a valid bus ticket or Koper Card Plus will have to leave the bus upon the request of the Arriva controller. If a passenger travels without a valid ticket or Koper Card Plus, or does not want to identify him\/herself with an ID document containing a personal photo, the Arriva controller may seize his\/her bus ticket or Koper Card Plus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bus fare paid by a mobile phone<\/strong>\u00a0is controlled by the \u00a0Arriva controllers in the manner that, upon request, a passenger has to call the phone no. 1899 and has to scan his\/her mobile phone on the controller\u2019s card reader, which will verify the payment; the correct payment will be displayed on the controller\u2019s card reader. A passenger, who has not paid for the ride or refuses to undergo the payment control, will have to leave the bus on the controller\u2019s request. Any reference to malfunction of a mobile phone shall be deemed as non-payment of a bus ticket or Koper Card Plus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Users of time cards<\/strong>\u00a0issued to the name have to identify themselves to the Arriva controller with an ID document containing their personal photo (ID card, passport, driving licence, bike licence, student\u2019s ID Card).<\/p>\n<p>A user or a passenger, who does not validate his\/her ticket or Koper Card Plus at the entrance, or does not want to cooperate with the Arriva controller, or does not want to state his\/her ticket or Koper Card Plus ID , will be fined with a \u20ac40 fine.<\/p>\n<p>The transporter will not refund the damage caused by the seized Koper Card Plus containing a credit balance.
